Wanting is easy to catch

A good image can make an ordinary object feel like the missing piece of a better life. Repetition makes it familiar. A limited-time message adds urgency. None of that means you are foolish for wanting it. It means the presentation has done its job.

02

Find the original desire

Before you follow the link, ask what appealed to you. Was it the object itself, the person presenting it, the promise of belonging, or the idea of a different routine?

03

Try the unseen test

Would you still want the item if nobody knew you owned it? Would you be interested if you had not seen it repeatedly this week?

04

Keep your agency

Sometimes the answer is yes: you have thought it through and you still want it. That is intentional consumption too.
